Sioux Falls, SD

The Lumber Exchange office complex revitalized the former Schoeneman's lumber yard site located along the Big Sioux River in downtown Sioux Falls. The 
four-story office building is a highly functional, LEED certified and energy star rated complex. The design extends the downtown historic fabric to the east side of the river, but also incorporates a modern expression. 
Sustainable design features included water efficient landscaping, reduced water usage, optimized energy performance, enhanced commissioning, and use of recycled content and regional materials. Employee comfort and productivity were improved through indoor environmental quality enhancements such 
as low-emitting building materials, thermal comfort control, and access to daylight and views, which complement the functional modern amenities.
